Bill Promotes Furniture Safety

The STURDY act would create a mandatory standard for manufacturers and would be regulated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

A bill in Congress aims to protect children by ensuring clothing storage furniture is manufactured to resist tipping.

 

The STURDY act would create a mandatory standard for manufacturers and would be regulated by the  U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. A revised version of the bill has received the support of the American Home Furnishings Association and is expected to be signed into law.
